I feel as though there has been a recent epidemic of people who lay claim to the fact that they are “awkward” because they believe it makes them appear endearing or it allows them a few communicative blunders. This frustrates me, because there are very few people who actually understand how painful and frustrating it is to genuinely be socially anxious.
